February 24, 2016Students Present Air Quality Findings to Policymakers – San Pedro, CA
July 12, 2016The Kids Making Sense (KMS) program has published the new Student Workbook and Teacher’s Guide to teach students about monitoring and improving the air quality in their communities.
The KMS program is designed for students in grades 6-12 and aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core. The Student Workbook’s lessons and hands-on activities teach kids about air quality, the health effects of pollution particles, using personal air sensors, and interpreting the data from the sensors. The companion Teacher’s Guide outlines the curriculum, presents full lesson plans, and makes it easy for teachers to fit the material into their busy classroom schedules.
Here is a sneak peek at a few pages from the new Teacher’s Guide and Student Workbook.
