3 Sensor Build Kit

$430

With the Build A Sensor Kit and lesson, students can learn more about what a particle sensor is and how it works. Participants will learn about the various components that make up a particle sensor, the purpose of each piece, and will get to build a complete sensor themselves.

Students will learn electronic concepts and introductory coding while learning how to engineer an air sensor. After building their sensor, students are guided through testing it and designing an experiment to measure indoor air quality.

The kit is completely reusable.

Here is what is included in the kit:

  • Breadboard
  • Wires
  • Particulate matter (PM) detector
  • PM detector cable/adapter
  • Arduino board
  • Arduino-to-computer USB cable
  • Student (incomplete) and teacher (complete) versions of all code needed to run the air sensor
  • NGSS-aligned instructional curriculum, including a Student Workbook and a Teacher’s Guide for instructors
  • Support via helpdesk website, email, and phone
  • Teacher training is available

You will also need access to a computer (not included in kit).

The table in the image gallery lists the Next Generation Science Standard and Common Core standard alignment for this curriculum.
